Nancy’s Bio:

I loved hiking and generally any excuse to enjoy nature. My wall art evolved into nature scenes. My office walls displayed vivid nature images. I sought to create a serene sense brought on a feeling or a reminder of the serenity I feel while enjoying the great outdoors.

Becoming a paid writer, I learned that I wanted to create. I was drawn to put aside fears built around false ideas. The Artist Way by Julian Cameron inspired me as I pursued a variety of artistic endeavors. I apply this approach to my photography. It’s a process. It’s for fun and personal enjoyment. And if I can apply it towards a living, then I’m all for it.

Though I started as a complete novice, I was suddenly fascinated with the aspect of combining technology and artistry. I hadn’t held a camera since my tour of Europe in 1979 and only then it was a point and shoot. I knew virtually nothing about composition, f-stops, shutter speed, or lighting. My snapshots left a lot to be desired.

The Cultural Revolution in our home began with wedding gifts to each other.

What is best is that the art has brought Rick and I into an ever deeper relationship as we pursue our passions. Nature photography compels us to live healthier, more natural lives. Nature photography compels us both to stay active. For me, it’s a great transition and complement to other passions. For Rick, it’s a passionate pursuit all of its own. Together, we are a great team both in the field and in the home.

Photography and writing feed my need to create. I aim to shoot nature images that conjure up the serenity I feel.
